Report from Saturday’s Prayer Witness for Life

Thank you to those who joined us on Saturday, March 28th to pray for mothers and babies at the Rockford abortion facility. Your prayers and peaceful witness are a powerful act of love for both the unborn and their parents.

After our time of prayer, a small group of us continued downtown to offer a Christian witness for life near the so-called “no-kings” rally. There was a large crowd present, and by God’s grace many people saw signs affirming the dignity of every human life. We were also able to engage a number of individuals in brief but meaningful conversations.

Several themes became clear from these conversations:

• Many people openly expressed strong support for abortion and believed that unborn children may be legally killed for any reason.

• Some individuals showed a deep misunderstanding of basic biological facts, repeating common claims that the unborn child is “not really alive” or merely a “clump of cells,” despite clear scientific evidence of human development in the womb.

• A number of participants framed abortion as an act of compassion, especially in cases where a child might face difficulties in life.

• Perhaps most striking was the degree to which faith was absent from many conversations. Several people openly stated that they no longer believe in God, placing their hope instead in political solutions.

These encounters remind us that the struggle for life is not only cultural or political, but deeply spiritual. Hearts are often shaped by the messages people hear repeatedly, and many have never encountered a clear, compassionate explanation of the dignity of human life in the womb.

For this reason, your prayers, sacrifices, and public witness are more important than ever. We must continue to ask God to soften hearts, open minds, and bring healing to our community. As always, our hope is found not in politics, but in Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Please continue to pray each day for an end to abortion in Rockford and for conversion of hearts throughout our community.

Thank you for your courage, faith, and love for both mother and child.
