Why is the Archdiocese of Chicago honoring a notorious abortion supporter?
Cardinal Blase Cupich, head of the Archdiocese of Chicago, plans to honor radically pro-abortion Senator Dick Durbin with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the “Keep Hope Alive” Benefit on Sunday, November 3.
To give such an award to a politician with a 100% pro-abortion voting record is a grave scandal and a violation of the sanctity of life.
Since entering the U.S. Senate in 1997, Senator Durbin has consistently voted for abortion and against life-saving protections, including:
Opposing the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act
Opposing the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act
Opposing the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act
Supporting the Women’s Health Protection Act, which sought to enshrine Roe v. Wade into federal law
We cannot remain silent while Catholic leadership chooses to honor those who openly support the destruction of innocent human life.
