A Catholic institution should NEVER honor a major abortion supporter.
Yet, on October 29, Cardinal Blase Cupich and the University of Saint Mary of the Lake are scheduled to honor billionaire businessman Michael Sacks with the Nostra Aetate Award at the annual Seminary Salutes Rerum Novarum fundraiser.
According to Illinois Right to Life, Sacks has given or helped direct approximately $1.1 million in support of abortion-related causes.

As Catholics, we believe every human life is sacred, from conception to natural death. Honoring someone with a significant record of financial support for abortion raises serious questions about the message this sends to the faithful, especially at an event dedicated to forming future Catholic priests.
