Upcoming events!
We are excited to share some important upcoming events that offer powerful opportunities to stand for the dignity of every human life and to support the family in our community. Your presence and prayers make a real difference, and we invite you to join us in these life-affirming efforts!
The fifth annual Rockford Walk for Life and Family will take place on Saturday, June 14, at 11:00 AM, beginning at City Hall (425 E. State St.) in downtown Rockford. This year’s Walk, hosted by the Rockford Family Initiative and co-sponsored by more than 40 local churches, organizations, and businesses, is a public celebration of life, family, and faith. The event begins with an opening prayer from Fr. John McNamara, and will feature a keynote address from Jill Stanek, a nationally known pro-life nurse and advocate. This peaceful walk through the heart of our city is inspired by the national March for Life and serves as a local beacon of hope and truth.
We are also celebrating a significant victory: the closure of the Auburn Street abortion facility. This outcome is the result of years of unceasing prayer, faithful witness, and the courageous work of countless pro-life advocates. But our mission continues. A new abortion center is now operating at 4236 Maray Drive in Rockford. There, it appears unborn children are being killed through chemical abortions up to 11 weeks gestation using the abortion pill regimen. These drugs not only end innocent lives but pose serious health risks to women. We must remain steadfast and present.
That’s why we are asking you to stand in prayer with us. Join us for our monthly rally and hour of prayer on Saturday, May 31, from 11:00 AM to noon at 4236 Maray Drive. Whether you pray the Rosary, offer songs, or read Scripture, your presence sends a strong message of compassion and hope. We also continue to gather regularly: Mondays at 9:30 AM for the Rosary, and on the first Tuesday and Friday of each month at noon with the Holy Family pro-life group.
Please bring your friends, family, and church community to these events — especially to the Rockford Walk for Life and Family on June 14. This is a time to unite as one voice for the voiceless, to celebrate the beauty of life, and to support mothers and families in need. Let’s fill the streets with love and light. Together, we can continue to be a source of truth, healing, and courage for our city.
