Illinois Legislative Update

Illinois Right to Life continues to do excellent work tracking the growing anti-life agenda in our state. Currently, Illinois politicians are advancing five bills that would expand abortion and reduce protections for both mothers and children:

HB 4834 – Expands access to abortion drugs while weakening safety standards and oversight, increasing risks to women and reducing accountability.

HB 4839 – Removes certain fetal death certificate requirements, further diminishing legal recognition of unborn children.

HB 5408 – Directs additional taxpayer resources toward expanding abortion access in Illinois.

HB 4966 – Allows minors in state custody to obtain abortions with reduced parental or trusted adult involvement, increasing vulnerability.

HB 5295 – Permits abortion procedures to be separated from medical records, limiting transparency and continuity of care.
